
Transdev Canada is hiring an Accounts Receivable for our Calgary location.
As an Accounts Receivable, you will play a vital role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the company’s financial stability. This is a full-time, remote position.
Your role:
Account Clean-Up & Reconciliation:
- Analyze customer accounts for discrepancies and aged items; identify and resolve issues causing unapplied cash or open credits.
- Investigate and resolve legacy balances, unapplied payments, and past-due invoices.
- Collaborate with internal departments (sales, customer service, billing) to correct and clear outstanding issues.
Cash Application:
- Apply customer payments (cheques, ACH, wires, credit cards) to appropriate invoices in the ERP system.
- Research and resolve unapplied and misapplied cash, short pays, and overpayments.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits to customer payments.
Customer Communication & Support:
- Communicate with customers and our depot staff to resolve payment:
- discrepancies and request remittance details.
- Provide account statements and reconcile accounts as needed.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding account status and payment history.
Reporting & Process Improvement:
- Assist in generating aging reports and dashboards to track clean-up progress.
- Recommend and help implement process improvements to streamline cash application and reconciliation activities.
- Support month-end close by ensuring timely and accurate AR entries.

Your profile:
- Completion of, or working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1-2 years in Accounts Receivable or similar accounting role, with hands-on experience in cash application, account cleanup and reconcilliation.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required) and moderate proficiency in Excel (v- and x-lookups, pivot tables).
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- You are able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- You possess a good knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations.
- You have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- You are able to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- You are detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- You have demonstrated ability to handle conflict at all levels.
Your location:
- This is a remote temporary position.
- Average Schedule of 40 hoursper week Monday - Friday
- There is a requirement to attend in person training sessions in Calgary.
