
Transdev Western Canada is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our head office in Calgary!
As a Senior Financial Analyst at Transdev, you will serve as a trusted business partner to operational and functional leaders, helping shape strategy and drive performance through insightful financial analysis and collaborative planning. In this key role, you will bridge the gap between finance and operations, delivering both analytical support and actionable guidance to facilitate informed decision-making across the business.
This is not just a back-office role — you will be embedded in the business, contributing directly to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and financial outcomes. In this role you will be a self starter, with a “can do” attitude that is eager to redefine processes, look for new opportunities to add value, and bring exceptional customer service skills to operational leaders by using a positive attitude to build trust and become a pillar of support the integration of financial acumen into everyday operational decisions.
Your role
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner closely with Operations, Business Development, and other departments to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Serve as a financial advisor to key stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations that influence business decisions and strategy.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans for a portfolio of locations.
- Analyze key financial and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support senior leadership with scenario modeling and financial evaluation of strategic initiatives.
3. Decision Support & Insights
- Provide real-time financial support to business leaders, enabling timely and data-driven decisions.
- Provide financial acumen and financial modelling abilities to partner with business development team on new business opportunities.
4. Accounting Support & Reporting
- Manage key accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close tasks.
- Act as a liaison between Finance and Operations, fielding inquiries and interpreting accounting implications for non-financial stakeholders.
- Prepare and review accounting memos and support internal reporting requirements.
5. Process Improvement & Innovation

- Identify and lead initiatives to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve data quality.
- Leverage technology and best practices to drive efficiency and transparency across financial operations.

Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA or similar designation preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, accounting, and business partnering within a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (in particular, MS Dynamics 365).
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable guidance for non-financial partners.
- Bring an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset each day, with the ability to speak finance terms to audiences with varying degrees of financial literacy to build a seamless bridge between finance and operations
